Why choose the Yarra Valley?

What is it about the Yarra Valley that makes it the perfect place for a wedding, funeral or any other event?

Just to be clear, I may be bias. I was born in Healesville, and no matter where I have lived, I seem to just find my way back to being close to the Yarra Valley. Currently I live in Chirnside Park, so I am right at the gateway.

With so many choices for locations and venues right across this beautiful State, these are just my opinions as to why the best of the best can be found in the Yarra Valley.

Photographic locations

How can you fault it? Everywhere you look across the valley, the view is incredible. This makes a perfect back drop for photography. From Kinglake to Gembrook, there is opportunity to find the most breathtaking images.

Ceremony

Some of the best wineries and venues can be found in the Yarra Valley. Not all will cater for weddings or funerals, but will still allow photography and wine tastings. Wineries have also now realised the importance of having a ceremony venue inside as well as locations outside, which allows the ease of having ceremony and reception in one location. Aside from being a smart move financially for the winery, this is a perfect choice for couples and their guests - so easy to co ordinate the day in one location!

Food and Drinks

The food and drinks of the Yarra Valley is simply divine. Four Pillars caters for gin lovers, and the food and beer at Coldstream Brewery is well worth a visit. There is Yarra Valley Dairy for all of the cheese lovers and the Chocolaterie will get the party started, and hype up kids and adults alike for the next 3 days

One of my favourites is Warramunda Estate

This one doesn't cater for weddings, but worth visiting for wine tasting, or relaxing afternoon Hen's tea. Their bespoke wines are to die for, and this is coming from someone who is not particularly overly fond of wine. The care they take in producing their stock is painstaking to say the least, but I found that there wasn't any bitter aftertaste that I normally associate with wine.

Just for the record. I recommend the Rose' :)

Locations for Ceremony and Reception

Here are just some of the venues around the Valley (in no particular order). Go and check them out over weekend and sample some of the amazing food you will also find in the Valley.

Although these are all situated in the Valley area, not one looks the same as any other, and they all have unique selling points - actually, it may take you longer than a weekend ;)
